WANDER THROUGH THE HUTONGS

These meandering alleyways bustle with local neighborhood life. Check out the siheyuan(ancient courtyard) architecture and the morning markets down the lanes.

These bustling markets are where locals bargain for their grocery shopping. Admire heaps of lotus root and see freshly-butchered halal lamb before sampling some local baked goods.

DIETARY RESTRICTIONS

Non-meat eaters are more than welcome and will find plenty to eat. We will make substitutions where possible.  (If you’d like to book this as a private tour that features only vegetarian or pescetarian food, please contact us.)

This tour offers a limited selection of dishes, but we are able to make some substitutions and add in excellent veg & tofu options at some stops

We are not able to make substitutions for those with Celiac disease/gluten free restrictions, as soy sauce is very prevalent in our tour stops.

These allergies have not been a problem in the past, however we cannot guarantee that the utensils and other cooking tools have not touched any of the food tour ingredients. Please bring your epi pen or other meds to the tour if you choose to participate.

To sample Beijing's best food, you'll want some help; it can be tough navigating the multitude of storefronts peddling dumplings, pastries, and meats. Sign up for a breakfast tour with the China-based UnTour, where a guide with encyclopedic knowledge of the city's street food will give you a history lesson, cross-cultural experience, and the best meal eaten while standing of your life.
Condé Nast Traveler
Fantastic Tour and Guide! I took this tour during a quick trip to Beijing and glad that I did. The food stops were great! All were local places that I never would have gone to on my own. It was great to see a side of Beijing that many tourists would not normally see. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and you get more food than you can eat.
