What to Do In Shanghai’s Koreatown Before & After UnTour’s Beyond Bulgogi Tour!

If you’re heading out to Shanghai’s Koreatown to join our Beyond Bulgogi food tour, why not make a day out of it and really explore this local neighborhood? You don’t even need a plane ticket to feel like you’ve been transported to a completely different city. All you need to do is hop on the metro to get to Minhang!

Our public tours start at 6:30pm on weekdays and 3:30pm on weekends and public holidays (if you stay in the neighborhood afterwards, you’ll understand why! We’ve designed our tours to create the best possible experience for our guests, and the night market gets extremely hectic and the traffic in the neighborhood becomes a parking lot during weekends/public holidays).

Our upcoming public tours are:

You can book directly by clicking here! If you’d like to set up a private tour, the price is the same as our public tour – we just require a minimum of 6 guests. Please shoot us a message or email us at info@untourfoodtours.com, and we will help you set up your private Koreatown tour.

BAR – K’Town Watering Hole

Want to put away a pint or two after the tour? We visit one of Koreatown’s best bars during the three hour tour where we sample some of the best bar snacks in town and play a few drinking games. Just stay on there and drink soju bombs all night long while taking in their impressive K-Pop video collection! Or head back to the Night Market, which also has pocha (tents – see above picture) set up with cocktails, beers, soju, makkeoli, and more. Local craft beer shop 8 Pints has also just opened up an Airstream trailer with outdoor seating just across the street from Jingting Tiandi (the tour meeting spot)

8 Pints. 998 Hongquan Rd, near Yinting Rd. 虹泉路998号近银亭路.

BOOKSTORE – Lightspace Xinhua Bookstore

Designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando, this gorgeous bookstore is part of the Pearl Art Museum complex just around the corner from K-Town. Come in, grab a coffee, and snuggle up with a good book in the beautiful surroundings for a couple hours. Or just explore the stunning architecture – you haven’t seen a bookstore this pretty before.

KOREAN PHOTOBOOTHS – Zhaosi Mida

There are several of these photobooths, complete with wigs, plush hats, sunglasses, accessories, and fun props to commemorate your trip out to K-Town. Zhaosi Mida, the one just outside the Night Market’s eastern exit, is one of the most popular!

1000 Hongquan Rd, next to the Bank of Korea. 虹泉路1000号在韩国银行旁边.

KOREAN SPA – New Star

We recommend heading here BEFORE your tour, as sitting in a sauna or being scrubbed down with exfoliant is definitely more fun when your stomach isn’t full of good food. This excellent branch of Shanghai’s favorite Korean spa has an outdoor pool, along with sex-segregated saunas and pools and family-friendly relaxation areas. It’s open 24 hours!

VIRTUAL GOLF SIMULATOR – Golfzon 室内高尔夫

There’s plenty of competition for places to practice your swing in Koreatown. But Golfzon is South Korea’s biggest virtual golf simulator brand, so you cannot go wrong at their proprietary spot.

2F, Yishang Plus Hote, 58 Yinting Rd. 银亭路58号宜尚plus酒店2楼.

LASER TAG – GLSA 雷战大联盟真人CS

This state of the art laser tag facility is fun for all ages. The set is a graffiti’ed warehouse with plenty of barrels to hide behind and corners to pin your opponents in. Check the dianping for discounts and deals!

ARCADE – iPlay World爱玩嘉年华

This arcade world is mostly for the kiddos. However there’s a few more mature games (racing, shooting, dance dance revolution) that will keep the child in all of us happy. Oh, and private karaoke booths! What more could you want?
